The short version
- The Story Engine is free, with no sign-up. Use it for lawful, honest ads.
- You pay for a project only after you've finalised the story with us.
- Your first cut arrives within 3 business days of an approved story, scope and assets.
- Once you've paid, you own the commercial rights to the delivered ad.
1. Who we are
Boldly Put is operated by Vinay Choudhry, trading as Boldly Put, based in India ("Boldly Put", "we", "us"). You can contact us at support@boldlyput.com. How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
2. The Story Engine
The Story Engine on our homepage is a free tool. While it is in preview, it shows a sample storyboard rather than generating new concepts. When live generation opens, it will take an optional product URL, a product description, an ad length, a platform and tones, and use Anthropic's Claude to generate ad concepts. No account is needed and no payment is taken on this site.
Concepts are drafts. They are generated by AI and are meant to be reviewed by people before anything is produced. We don't guarantee that any concept is unique, original or free from similarity to other work, and we don't guarantee that it will suit your business or perform in any particular way. We may change, limit or withdraw the Story Engine at any time, including with rate limits to keep it available for everyone.
3. Where the service is available
The Story Engine relies on Anthropic's Claude, so it is only available where both of these allow it:
- Anthropic's supported countries and regions for its API (see anthropic.com/supported-countries); and
- the territory exclusions in Anthropic's startup program terms, which we follow voluntarily: we do not make the service available to people located in Belarus, China, Cuba, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, Sudan, Syria, Crimea, or the so-called Donetsk People's Republic or Luhansk People's Republic.
You may not use the Story Engine from, or on behalf of anyone in, those places, or if you are barred from receiving these services under applicable export-control or sanctions law. Where one list is stricter than the other, the stricter one applies. We may block access from these locations, and we do not accept projects from them.
4. Acceptable use
When you use the Story Engine or work with us, you agree not to ask for, create or use ads that are:
- unlawful, or promote unlawful products or activities;
- deceptive, including false or misleading claims about a product, price, results or endorsements;
- infringing, meaning they copy or misuse someone else's copyright, trademark, likeness or other rights;
- harmful, including content that is hateful, harassing, exploitative or dangerous.
You also agree not to impersonate other brands or people, to try to disrupt or overload the service, or to use automated means to get around our rate limits. We may refuse a request, or stop working on a project, if we reasonably believe it breaks these rules.
5. Paid projects
If you want a finished ad, you start by sending us a brief through the "Start a project" form, which opens your email app, or by emailing us directly. From there:
- Story first, payment second. We work with you to finalise the story. You pay only after you've finalised it.
- Timing. We deliver the first cut within 3 business days of your approved story, scope and assets. The clock starts once all three are agreed and received, not before.
- Revisions. Further revisions beyond the first cut are quoted separately, and we'll agree the cost with you before we begin.
- Cancellations and refunds. If you cancel before production starts, we refund your payment in full. If we miss the 3-business-day first cut, you can choose a full refund, and this applies even after production has started. Otherwise, once production has started, payments are non-refundable, but we will keep working with you on the agreed scope and quote any further revisions before we begin.
- Pricing. Prices shown on the site are in US dollars and cover the package described. Custom and series work is quoted individually.
- Third-party assets. If your ad uses licensed third-party material, such as stock footage, music or fonts, we will tell you before delivery. Your use of those elements is subject to their licence terms, which we will share with you. Assets you supply remain covered by section 5.
- Human review. Claude helps with concepts, scripts and storyboards. Production is founder-led, and our founder, as creative director, reviews and approves the work before delivery.
The details of each project, including scope, price and payment method, are confirmed in writing between you and us. If anything there conflicts with these terms, the project confirmation applies to that project.
6. Your assets and claims
You must hold, or have permission to use, all rights in the products, logos, images, footage, music, text and other assets you provide to us, and you give us permission to use them to make your ad. You are responsible for the accuracy of the product claims in your ad. As part of our process we aim to flag claims we can't verify, but flagging is a courtesy, not a legal review. The final decision on what an ad says is yours.
7. Ownership and rights
Once you have paid in full, you own the commercial rights to the delivered ad and its script. Until then, the work remains ours. Free Story Engine concepts are provided for your use in evaluating a project. We keep the right to our own tools, methods, prompts and underlying technology. We may not show your delivered ad publicly as an example of our work without your permission.
Because AI-generated material can resemble existing work, we can't promise that any concept is unique, as noted in section 2.
8. Third-party services
The service relies on third parties, including Anthropic for AI generation and our hosting provider. We are not responsible for outages or changes at those providers, though we'll work to limit any impact on you. If you give us a URL, you confirm you're allowed to have that page read for this purpose.
9. Disclaimers
The Story Engine and its output are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits or revenue, arising from your use of the site or the Story Engine. For paid projects, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Ending things
You can stop using the Story Engine at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue, including ownership, disclaimers and liability, continue after that.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. A change doesn't affect a paid project already confirmed in writing, unless you agree otherwise.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer where you live. We'd rather solve a problem than argue about it, so please contact us first.
